With a career in Admin for a number of different corporate companies behind me I am lucky enough to make my hobby a career. I can also understand that leaving your dogs can be very upsetting and also after a busy day coming home and having to take your dog for a walk can be the last thing that you want to do.
I started Lead on Dog Walking over 5 years ago now to help people that are in this situation. I wanted to not only walk your dogs but ensure that they have a good walk in local woodlands and surrounding areas. I very rarely walk in local parks.
I have always had an interest in dogs having had dogs in the family from before I was born. As soon as I left home I rescued a cross breed dog called Tammy. She was closely followed by Barney another cross breed but alot younger. Barney took part in agility training. Enjoying Agility so much I decided to get a Collie X. I went on to rescue Sidney at 8 weeks old who turned out to have very little Collie in him and unfortunately had also inherited muscle problems. Sidney went on to complete intermediate obedience. Sadly he did not have a long life and died of cancer at 7. Tammy and Barney lived on to old age. We aquired Henry my first dalmation from a friend who did not want him anymore and there started my passion for dalmations.
I rescued Issy from the Dalmation Welfare and have been a volunteer every since helping foster, home check and transporting homeless dalmations.
I currently live in Bracknell with Homer, Pippa (dalmations) and Lexi (doberman). They have all partaken in obedience training although sometimes you would not know this!!! and Pippa and Lexi have also done Agility training. Occasionally they join the other dogs on walks.
I have also had cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters and although I consider myself a dog person have loved every pet I have owned. I currently have tropical fish and a very large koi pond.
To enhance my career I have just started the Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour and am hoping to go onto degree level with this. When I am not walking I would like to help people with their dogs behaviour problems.
